Absolute Revisionism: Explaining The Diamondae Machine

Absolute Revisionism: Explaining The Diamondae Machine

The Diamondae Machine, an orange pincer floating in the void of space, as seen in Threads that Bind the Tempest, has a cryptic function that is totally antithetical to existence, to the unfettered continuity of it. It is explained in a round-about way, but still, it doesn’t seem to make any sense. And making sense of it would lead to madness. And after the events of TTBTT, the Trinity and the One, especially Spellbinder, are wary of such things for...

Tyra Tarkush: Numerology

Tyra Tarkush: Numerology

Numerology is a critical part of the culture of Buhukiea. Sentiments on numerology across each being is generally consistent—this is because the basis for numerology is rooted in the presentation of numbers themselves in Tyra Tarkush. Tyra Tarkush Character Archtypes and the Numbers The Wonder The Tree The Sun The Pillar The Omen The Monarch The Grasp The Gaze The Break Tyra Tarkush has nine character archtypes that govern the sounds of Tyra Tarkush and that have meaning attached to...

2016 in Art

🗓 06 Jun 2017

A break down of the art I did in 2016. A best approximation of it, anyway. Went off of when I scanned it in because I had no other way to figure out when I actually drew it. This excludes any critical book scenes. January None. February March Robo-Knight v3 design Balon April Ra'uw'la Crying May King's Head Cyclone's Head Farrco's Head Spellbinder's Head June Cyclone, vaguely tired Lapadj the Kharatzara Sarela the Szarehan July None. Themes Moving Forward

🗓 10 Oct 2016

Some Threads that Bind the Tempest allusions For the first four books in the series, there were clear elemental and color themes. How to Stop Wildfire was red and fire, Harmonic Waves was blue and water, Threads that Bind the Tempest was yellow and wind, and Of Fractured Edges was green and earth. But those are the first four themes: What are the The Adventures of the Trinity and the Ones themes moving forward? The answer lies clearly within the...

Egyptian Influences

🗓 26 Sep 2016

I'm a bit of a history buff. Egypt was one of my first interests and because of that the series has a variety of Egyptian influences sprinkled throughout it. Religion is a large point where I draw from Egyptian mythology. A few of the Gods in the pantheon of my series are Egyptian in origin. Ra. Osiris. Isis. Anubis. And so on. They function similarly to their Earth counterparts, but with my own take on them, of course. My own...

Sargon and Resonance

🗓 12 Sep 2016

Warning: Harmonic Waves spoilers! Harmonic Waves, book two of the The Adventures of the Trinity and the One introduces a brand new concept, both to the readers and to the world itself. That concept is resonance. Resonance being the term attributed to the technique of a Kharat harmonizing with another part, a Vacore, laying its will and ethereal form on top of it and making it conform to that will. This may seem a bit redundant as a person's body...

Contradictions in the Process are Opportunities for Advancement

🗓 16 May 2016

There are times when I hit a snag along the line. The internal version, updated every moment, of the world and the events spirals along and maybe goes against what I've put forth as canon so far. What I believe is canon conflicts slightly with what is canon in the print. It is never a hard conflict; just like a phrasing stumble that has put me in a bit of a corner. I get extremely frustrated when this happens. Part...

Actual Racial Diversity in My Characters

🗓 11 Apr 2016

In an other post I talked about gender diversity in my cast of characters. That is all well and interesting and relevant to current society and the state of media, but a bit immaterial in the Empire of my world as gender doesn't really have meaning asides from personal preference. A moot issue. A issue that is slightly less moot in the Empire is a individual's race (species, if you are unfamiliar with my lingo.) As in, whether an individual...

Gender Diversity in My Characters

🗓 18 Jan 2016

I'm the type of person that likes diversity in TV shows and movies. There should be gender diversity -- a pretty equal balance between females and males and the cast should be racially diverse, in my opinion. Of course, this does not hold for period pieces or settings that clearly have a dominant race or clearly sexist society or something. I'm not a Social Justice Warrior (SJW) or anything, I just want diversity---not white males dominating the screen all the...

King Fla'neiel's Journey

🗓 06 Dec 2015

I made another little movie on How to Stop Wildfire. This time, it has music custom made and inspired by the book! It was made by Josh B. It is a wonderful track. The theme of the video is King Fla'neiel's journey. Nothing too spoiler-y, just a good beginning overview. It was a bit hard to make, but I did it. Learned a lot of new techniques. Did some crappy drawings just for it. Enjoy!

Locations to Expect in Book Three (and ones we have seen so far)

🗓 02 Nov 2015

So book three, which is tentatively titled as Threads that Bind the Tempest has a very robust draft, so I can share some little nuggets about the plot and setting. This particular nugget is where in Tyra Kolaq'blegae our intrepid Trinity and the One and the supporting cast will be seeing. Locations to expect and all that. But first, a recap of where and what we have seen so far. Obviously spoilers for those who have not read both How...

Elemental Themes

🗓 13 Jun 2015

After getting the first draft of the second book (title still undetermined) done I realized something. Water was a theme throughout and when I was trying to figure out the title I was angling for a water-themed title. Similar to how fire is a central component in How to Stop Wildfire and the title is a direct reference to that. So book two is going to be something like At Water's Edge or The Heart of the Riptide. The basic...

CONCEPT ART

🗓 17 May 2015

I have gotten to something I should have done weeks ago: upload concept art to DA and embed them here. In my possession are pictures of the character, races, and some scenery of things in How to Stop Wildfire and the world. My skills are pretty bad, yes, yes, but they are visual aids! In the database I have been adding the pictures. It is going to be fantastic in the end, I hope.
